چکیده
Plants are sessile organisms, some of which can live for over a thousand years. Unlike most animals, plants employ a postembryonic mode of development driven by the continuous activity of pluripotent stem cells. Consequently, plants are able to initiate new organs over extended periods of time, and many species can readily replace lost body structures by de novo organogenesis. Classical studies have also shown that plant tissues have a remarkable capacity to undergo de-differentiation and proliferation in vitro, highlighting the fact that plant cell fate is highly plastic. This suggests that the mechanisms regulating fate transitions must be continuously active in most plant cells and that the control of cellular pluripotency lies at the core of diverse developmental programs. Here, we review how pluripotency is established in plant stem cell systems, how it is maintained during development and growth and reinitiated during regeneration, and how these mechanisms eventually contribute to the amazing developmental plasticity of plants.

Isolation and preliminary characterization of an Adriamycin-resistant murine fibrosarcoma cell line.
A variant cell line (UV-2237-ADMR) resistant to the anthracycline antibiotic Adriamycin (Doxorubicin) was selected in vitro from the murine UV-2237 fibrosarcoma tumor cell line. Resistance to Adriamycin proved to be a stable characteristic of the UV-2237-ADMR line, whether the line was grown in vivo or in vitro. The UV-2237-ADMR line also exhibited increased resistance to N-trifluoroacetyladria...
متن کاملDetection of chromatic microlensing in Q 2237 + 0305 A
We present narrow band images of the gravitational lens system Q 2237+0305 made with the Nordic Optical Telescope in eight different filters covering the wavelength interval 3510-8130 Å. Using PSF photometry fitting we have derived the difference in magnitude vs. wavelength between the 4 images of Q 2237+0305. At λ = 4110 Å, the wavelength range covered by the Strömgren-v filter coincides with ...
